The lowest term-life factor in our table (0.847)
Equitable Life of Canada is a Waterloo-based fraternal benefit society that sells through advisors. Our table gives it a 0.847 factor for term life — the lowest of the six carriers we price — so on a clean 30-40 year old profile it usually comes out cheapest.
The rate engine computes a baseline premium (age, sex, smoking, coverage and term) and multiplies it by the carrier factor. On the same profile, that factor is the entire price difference between carriers.
